"It is imperative that this gear be replaced during engine restorations. To remove this gear, remove the valve cover. Compress the oil pump drive gear spring about 1/2"" from the top and then pull it out. The drive gear and housing can then be lifted out - take the pin out of the housing to release the drive gear. Purchase pin A6551P seperately."
